Further updates to the Repeats section,
with information added for the 1990-1991 repeats of The New
Avengers in the Grampian and
Granada ITV regions. I've also
updated all pages relating to this repeat run to note that six
episodes were not included in the package. Thanks as always to Simon
Coward for all his research work.

A nice update to the Little Wonders section today, specifically to
the pages concerning German home media releases:
Germany - Blu-ray;

30th January 2026 - The Girl from Auntie (Beeb!)...
Taking a step away from ITV repeats for a little while, here are
some newly-added BBC2 and
BBC Four pages focusing on the
mid-1990s and mid- to late 2000s respectively.
Thursday
29th January 2026 - The New Avengers Repeat Information...
Just to keep visitors informed, I am slowly working through adding

by tennis elbow pain. Over the last few days, new information has
been added to the pages for Anglia,
ATV,
Border, Central,
Channel,
Grampian, Granada,
HTV Wales,
HTV West,
Scottish,
Southern,
Thames,
TSW, TVS,
Tyne Tees,
Ulster,
Westward and
Yorkshire. As before, massive
thanks to Simon Coward for his superb researches.
Wednesday
7th January 2026 - The Avengers Declassified Reassigned: Phase Two...
You might think that since its relaunch The Avengers Declassified
has been quiet. Trust me, the silence has been deceptive, as I've
been incredibly busy working on a second phase to November's
restructure, and this one's the big one! Celebrating The
Avengers' 65th anniversary today, The Avengers Declassified
has had a ground-up structural makeover. When I launched the
site in 2009, I built it around an episode guide structure, divided
into the eras of the series (Keel / Gale / Peel / King / The New
Avengers / etc), but since my print publications had superseded
their content (and there was always a far better episode guide out
there at
Mrs. Peel We're Needed; check it out!) those
sections had diminished in importance. So, they are now gone. Forever! However, all the interesting, unique content
in those sections has been preserved and repurposed in new sections,
such as Have Scripts — Will Film
(production information), What the
Viewers Saw (a recent addition, but all thoroughly rechecked and
updated), They Keep Repeating Steed
(another recent addition, but now as complete as we can currently
make it up to the mid-1970s),
Get-A-Way! (international
transmissions), Danger Makers
(quotes from those who made the series) and
Box of Tricks has inherited the Keel
Era feature about the
Series 1
Reconstructions. This refocussing sets out my vision for the
future, of The Avengers Declassified being a place to visit
for top quality Avengers research, information and other
things of interest to fans of the series. It also brings to the fore
information and research that was previously hidden deep within the
site and quite likely got missed by visitors. No chance of that now!
I'd like to take this opportunity
to thank both Simon Coward and Andrew Pixley for their invaluable
researches and help with the various broadcast-centric sections. In
fact, "invaluable" doesn't even begin to describe how important
their work in helping me compile this section has been and continues
to be. Thank you, gents!
Friday
19th December 2025 - What the Viewers Saw... As part of my wish to
rethink the structure of The Avengers Declassified, I've
launched a new section that brings together the ITV First
Transmission information that had previously been spread to the four
winds across the site - find it now in
What the Viewers Saw. Once again, the process of compiling the
information has highlight a good number of presentation faults which
have now been corrected (though I may have missed some!). After I've
double-checked the new pages, the old ones will be quietly retired.
Wednesday
17th December 2025 - They
Keep Fine-Tuning Repeats! Apologies if visitors are facing
confusion tonight when they visit The Avengers Declassified, but I'm
still working out how I mean the site to move forwards. It's
essentially experimentation in public, so please bide with me.
What I have decided is that I
rather liked the byline I came up with after the fact for The
Reavengers section and have therefore renamed it
They Keep Repeating Steed, which
seems suitably Avengerish. There will be a top level
accompanying section soon comprising UK First Transmissions (it's already
on the site but too well hidden IMO).
The First Run information and
Repeats up to the end of 1969 has now been thoroughly checked and
updated, with invaluable research work from Simon Coward, Andrew
Pixley and myself adding swathes of new information. Check it out!
Tuesday 2nd to Thursday
4th December 2025 - They
Keep Repeating Steed... Further 1960s repeat listings added for
ABC Midlands,
ABC North,
Anglia Television,
ATV,
Border Television,
Channel Television,
Grampian Television,
Granada Television,
Rediffusion London,
Southern Television,
Teledu Cymru
(WWN), Television Wales &
West (TWW),
Tyne Tees (1960s), Ulster Television, Westward Television
and Yorkshire Television.
This rounds off our work on 1960s UK repeats - for the moment.
Monday
1st December 2025 - Not More Repeats! Another 1964 repeat season
added today, this time for
Rediffusion (London).
Sunday
30th November 2025 - 'Best of The Avengers' Repeat Season... The
first Avengers repeat season ever has today been added to
The Re-Avengers. Find it in the
1960s section of UK Repeats.
Thanks to Simon Coward for his help with the new section.
Saturday
29th November 2025 - New Section: The Re-Avengers... It's early days,
but I've added the beginnings of a new section today -
The Re-Avengers, which will build
into a repeats database. I've kicked it off, with help from Simon
Coward and Andrew Pixley, with possibly the most important repeat
runs of them all - on Channel
4 (UK).
Friday
28th November 2025 - The Avengers Declassified... Reassigned! Like a
phoenix from the ashes, The Avengers Declassified rises today
after a two-year absence from the web. Launched in 2009, it was
taken down in October 2023 due to copyright worries and at the time
the work involved to make it compliant seemed too gargantuan a
challenge. Instead, I concentrated my energies on the book I was
writing with the brilliant J Z Ferguson, Escapades: An
Exploration of Avengers Curiosities. This was based in part on
researches conducted for Declassified — and greatly expanded
— and the book was published in 2025 by Quoit Media, gaining
positive reviews.
As the publication of
Escapades rendered a large proportion of the content of
Declassified out of date, I realised that if the site was to
returned to public view it would have to be trimmed back to a
great extent and initially this seemed a shame. However, recently I
took a look through my local copy of The Avengers Declassified
and realised that there was a lot of research into
regional and international broadcasts, home media releases and the
history of The Avengers on the web, plus interviews and
features that were worth republishing, along with interesting pages about the
stage play and radio series that didn't survive the transition to
their Escapades chapters. So, I took the decision to do a
second 'nip and tuck' operation on the site, having previously
performed similar surgery in 2020 after an updated Two Against the Underworld had been
published. At that point, the site was slimmed down massively from 650 to 400
pages, and this new streamlining drops the page count a little
further to 351. The alternative was to have Declassified
continue its slumber — and 351 pages is better than none!
You'll see that the books I've
co-written and/or edited are placed front and centre here — that's
because they are the culmination of many years of research and
writing at Declassified and they remain an important part of
what The Avengers Declassified is. Please consider
purchasing these titles. The same goes for Bowler and Brolly Books'
Stay Tuned to The Avengers books, which celebrate the late,
great Dave Rogers' pioneering work in researching the series and
building Avengers fandom from nothing.
Those who visited The
Avengers Declassified on a regular basis will find this new
iteration of the site potentially a little disorientating. Turned on
its head, even! That's because I want to highlight the sections
which are web-exclusive (the newly monikered Box of Tricks
section which is now home for interviews and features that used to
be spread to the four winds across the site and therefore not so
easy to find, the Little Wonders home media section, and the
Avengerweb area that documents the history of The Avengers
on the web). I've also made the episode lists section more inclusive
in that it now runs chronologically so that it takes in the stage
play and the radio series before it closes with The New Avengers.
There's still plenty of exclusive material in these sections, so do
investigate.
Finally, I plan to add new pages
over the coming months, particularly to share repeats information
that I have co-researched with Simon Coward and Andrew Pixley.
Welcome to The Avengers
Declassified. We've been reassigned!
