The Avengers — Series 5

(1) This repeat screening was accompanied by a documentary featuring Patrick Macnee, Honor Blackman, Linda Thorson and Gareth Hunt - The Avengers Revisited - which aired on BBC Four on Thursday 10th (8.30pm), Friday 11th (12.20am Saturday) and Saturday 12th November 2005 (11.00pm).

 The Avengers — Series 6

(2) This solitary Series 6 episodes would appear to have been included as part of the Emma Peel package sold to BBC Four by dint of it being the farewell episode for the character (as well as the introductory episode for Tara King). No further Tara King episodes were screened by BBC Four.

 The Avengers — Series 4

(3) When BBC Four returned to The Avengers after a two-month break they turned to the monochrome Emma Peel series and gave their documentary The Avengers Revisited another screening on Thursday 6th July 2006 (8.30pm).
(4) During this week in July 2006, The Avengers was stripped Monday-Thursday with only the last of these episodes receiving a same-week, late-night repeat. The first three received their second BBC Four showings in August and September 2006.
(5) Double-bill of Avengers episodes shown consecutively.
(6) A further screening of The Avengers Revisited was included in the BBC Four Thursday evening schedule on 19th October 2006 (10.00pm).
(7) This episode was scheduled to start at 11.30pm but it appears that all BBC Four programmes from 11.00pm onwards commenced five minutes later than advertised. The reason remains unclear.
(8) Isolated rerun for Series 5 episode Murdersville for no readily apparent reason.

 The Avengers — Series 5

(9) This episode was scheduled to start at 12.20am but it appears that all BBC Four programmes from 10.50pm onwards commenced five minutes later than advertised. The reason remains unclear.

 The Avengers — Series 6

(10) Another screening for the solitary Series 6 episode in the BBC Four repeats, and coincidentally this was the second time when one of its Thursday or Friday screenings was pre-empted for a different programme.

The New Avengers — Series 1 & 2

A repeat run that commenced with a series of double-bills of Series 4 Avengers episodes and then ran in tandem with BBC4's first run of The New Avengers. Starting from Thursday 13th November 2008, The New Avengers would debut on a Thursday evening at 7.40pm and then be reshown late on a Friday night and be followed immediately after by a Series 4 Avengers. These double-bills continued until Friday 12th December 2008 when BBC Four aired the final monochrome episode, Honey for the Prince. From this point, the late night screenings continued with single episodes of The New Avengers until a second Friday night (early Saturday morning) slot was added from Thursday 9th April 2009. Episodes of The New Avengers are marked • (1) or •• (2), dependent upon which series they were originally a part of.

(14) Isolated rerun for Series 5 episode A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Station for no readily apparent reason.
(15) The debut of The New Avengers on BBC Four.

(17) Additional late night/early morning slot added, initially used to replay early episodes of The New Avengers before quickly settling into a pattern of offering a third time to catch the episode of the week.
