 The Avengers — Series 1

Southern Television joined the broadcasts of The Avengers in March 1961, more than two months after the ABC Network transmissions had commenced. Rather than show all the episodes previously seen in the ABC ITV regions, Southern instead started with Hot Snow and Brought to Book - to introduce the series' premise - and then joined the ABC Network transmissions from Dance with Death. Episodes 1-13 were shown fortnightly, alternating with a drama series set in the world of publishing, Deadline Midnight. The series reverted to a weekly schedule for Episodes 14-17.
