Born on 20th January 1946, Malcolm Gooding is a South African voice artist and television presenter famed for narrating the broadcast links for the iconic radio programme Squad Cars on Springbok Radio from 1968 to 1985. He grew up in Vereeniging and Germiston, was educated there and at Wits University and UNISA, gaining a BA Honours degree, majoring in history.

Malcolm started his career in broadcasting at the age of 21 in 1967 when he joined the English radio service of the SABC. Over the course of his career, he established himself as one of the best voices in South African radio and television.

Gooding became popular for his English service music show called Going Gooding, on which he was the disc jockey. Meanwhile, he also read the news and presented current affairs programmes. When television came to South Africa, Malcolm hosted its first variety show called Good Vibrations, which was aired every Saturday night.

In later years, he has become a well-respected voice-artiste, voicing radio and television commercials, as well as narrating a variety of documentaries for channels such as Discovery, National Geographic and SuperSport. He also hosted the M-Net series Criminal Minds and Crimes Uncovered, while in a lighter vein he acted as announce for the SABC2 version of Strictly Come Dancing.
