Denis Smith

Denis Smith was
a legend in South African radio circles. He was an actor, a
presenter, an announcer, and, most famously, a newsreader. He
fulfilled the latter role on Springbok Radio, reading the
evening news in The World At 7.00pm. Denis Smith died on
13th
May 2015.

Malcolm Gooding

Malcolm
Gooding is a South African voice artist and television presenter
famed for narrating the iconic radio programme Squad Cars
on Springbok Radio from 1968 to 1985. He is also well-known as a
disc jockey, newscaster and presenter of documentaries and
magazine programmes.

Tony Jay
(Pre-recorded announcer on opening theme - "The Avengers")
Born in London
in 1933, Tony Jay was a founder member of the Royal Shakespeare
Company who emigrated to South Africa in 1955. He was involved
in many Springbok Radio productions and later forged a hugely
successful career in America, working with many of the great
directors of the modern era. Tony passed away in Los Angeles in
2006.
