The glamorous Erica Rogers was born in Cape Town in the late 1930s, but studied at RADA before opening on the West End in The World of Suzie Wong. She went on to play in the Richard Rodgers musical No Strings (1963), Bonne Soupe and with Virginia McKenna in A Little Night Music. Her British TV appearances include four appearances in The Saint with Roger Moore between 1962 and 1965, two linked episodes of Pimlico Films/ITC's Man of the World (1962), entitled The Runaways and Portrait of a Girl, and a single episode, A Rainbow Has Two Ends, of Riviera Police (1965). She also made numerous comedy appearances in programmes written by Frank Muir, Dennis Norden and Michael Pertwee.

Film appearances include an obscure British horror film, The Horror of It All (1963) alongside Dennis Price, The Spots on My Leopard (1974, made in South Africa), and Roadside Prophets (1992).

Her first appearance in South Africa was as Maggie in After the Fall. Erica was, for many years, one of South Africa's busiest actresses, some of her highlights including Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Monica in I Love My Wife (1978), Grace in Faith Healer and Joanna in Present Laughter. Erica also played the controversial former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, in Anyone for Denis?, a very popular satirical play, at The Baxter Theatre, Cape Town in 1983.

Erica's radio experience is vast, but she is probably still best known and loved in South Africa for her portrayal of Tracy Dark in the series The Mind of Tracy Dark, a long-running series about a woman with psychic powers which took over the Avengers slot when that series drew to a close. She also had a long-running part in the popular South African radio adaptation of the BBC television comedy, Marriage Lines, in which she played Kate Starling alongside Adrian Egan's George. Marriage Lines was produced and directed by Donald Monat.

Erica Rogers currently lives in Cape Town and has two grown-up children, Clarissa and Graham.
