Brief: This partwork first issue was tester release offered on a regional basis to a limited number of stockists. As is common with partwork first issues, this one was priced low at £2.99, rather than the regular on-going RRP of £7.99, so as to entice customers. Subscribers were offered five 'free' gifts: the first issue of the subscription free, an Avengers Calendar, two photographic prints, a DVD storage case and an original soundtrack CD of Laurie Johnson Avengers music (the Edsel CD set generally available). Five further tester issues were planned — and an associated website was launched by Eaglemoss (see Webscape in Time 2010), but the second issue was never sent to retailers. The partwork was subsequently rethought and a further tester release was undertaken, this time beginning from the black and white Emma Peel episodes. This DVD used unrestored prints, identical to those featured in Optimum Releasing's The Avengers — The Complete Series 2 + Surviving Episodes from Series 1 (2009). DVD covers of first three planned 1961/1962 releases (Issues 2 & 3 appear not have been issued, though we understand they were manufactured):

Brief: Once again, this partwork first issue was tester release offered on a regional basis to a limited number of stockists. In line with the previous tester issue, it was again priced at the promotional price of £2.99. The subscriber 'free' gifts remained identical to those publicised previously, even down to the calendar being 'Steed and Mrs Gale' flavoured. This DVD used unrestored prints, not the digitally restored editions issued by Optimum Releasing in 2010.

Magazine Content: Episode guides to the two full episodes included on the DVD, plus features on 'The Fight Against Evil', 'More Than Just A Pretty Face' (concerning Diana Rigg), 'Moving With the Times' and actor biographies. Brief: Further issues were planned beyond this second issue, but once again Eaglemoss ended their test early (see letter, below). There has been no sign of a resumption of this partwork release in the intervening time. DVD covers of first four planned 1965 releases (Issues 3 & 4 never issued):
