Brief:
An unlicensed version of The New Avengers Series 1 which
despite claiming to contain 13 episodes, in actuality only
contains 12 — Faces is omitted as the issuer had no
access to a Russian soundtrack for this episode (the other
episodes have Russian dialogue over the original English
language track). To add insult to injury, the twelve episodes are
contained on a single disc, albeit a double-sided one, and
no English language track is included. The
picture quality is very poor — no great surprise with 6
episodes a side! All told, an excellent advert for official
products! |

Brief:
As with Series 1, the unlicensed version of The New Avengers Series
2 omits an episode — Forward Base — despite claiming
to include it - as the issuer did not have access to a
Russian soundtrack of the episode. Again, the twelve episodes are split six
episodes per side of a double-sided disc, leaving
much to be desired in the quality stakes.
Regulars to The
Avengers Declassified will note that up until now, VHS and
DVD pages have featured front face covers only, but I just
had to show the full sleeves here — particularly this one,
as it features not only images from the wrong era of The
Avengers (Series 5, Emma Peel) but also the wrong
programme completely! The second image down on the back face
cover above is actually from a New Avengers spoof in The
Benny Hill Show! Priceless! |
