Brief:

  • Limited Edition of 1500 copies.
  • This box set included an exclusive 120-page booklet featuring essay by Dick Fiddy of the British Film Institute and Story Information for every episode taken from the original studio files;
  • As with the UK Blu-ray releases, all filmed episodes are presented in 1080/24p.
  • Unfortunately, the great majority of special features are presented in standard definition NTSC at 480/60i or upscaled to 720 or 1080 at 24p. In some cases, the conversion process has introduced sound and frame rate issues. This was presumably a decision taken to ensure worldwide compatibility - but it has had frustrating side effects. (The UK Blu-rays have SD extras in the correct 576/50i.)
  • The five bonus episodes from the videotape era - which if presented in SD should have been their native 576/50i for Australia - are included in standard definition NTSC at 480/60i. Not ideal.
  • Several items are unique to this set (The Avengers at 50 and the Brian Clemens and Diana Rigg at the BFI features, for instance). However, the Series 1 episode reconstructions included in the UK/German sets do not appear here - they would be included on the Imprint Tara King Collection in 2023.

Brief:

  • Limited Edition of 1500 copies.
  • This box set included an exclusive 120-page booklet featuring an essay by television writer / historian Andrew Pixley, and Press/Story Information from the original studio files;
• The five bonus episodes from the videotape era - which if presented in SD should have been their native 576/50i for Australia - are included in standard definition NTSC at 480/60i. Not ideal.
  • Likewise the 14 episode reconstructions were upscaled for this release from their native 576/50i to 1080/60i. While they look better than the surviving videotape episodes presented on the same disc, they do not present the source programmes as well as the UK DVDs and Blu-rays.
  • Mister Jerico was a 1970 ITC pilot film starring Patrick Macnee, made shortly after he finished work on The Avengers. The film was specially restored in full HD for this release and had a Blu-ray case in the box, complete with a cover of its own, devoid of any Avengers elements. The film did not inspire a sequel or weekly TV series.

Brief:

  • Standard Edition of the Blu-ray set released by Imprint in 2023. It dropped the two bonus discs from that original edition bringing the disc count down to 14 from 16. The standard edition also lacked the 120-page booklet of the earlier box set.
